Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology visits Miss GEICO in St. Clair
07.30.08

Just a note to thank you for the wonderful weekend, here it is Wednesday and the guys are still talking about it.

I know you’re busy, so we all appreciated everything you did for us. I do need one more favor though, please forward this “thank you” to John Haggin. His hospitality and enthusiasm was a little overwhelming and we all just wanted to thank him for that. If Mr. Haggin wouldn’t mind, we would like it very much if he could extend a thank you and job well done to the entire team from the Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology. And you can add about thirty new fans to the sport of offshore boat racing, well 29, Jarrod was already a fan.

Thanks Again,
Jeff Hope

Dear Miss Geico Racing Team:

Greetings!

My name is Jarrod, and I am currently enrolled as a student at the Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology (MIAT); MIAT is located 15 minutes south of Detroit. At MIAT, I am seeking an F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant License.

Currently, my class is focused on the (T-53) turbine-engine overhaul portion of our training. Today, when our instructor was showing us some of the applications for which turbine engines are used, we viewed the Miss Geico in a section of the “Build It Bigger” show.

As boating enthusiast and a Miss Geico fan, I mentioned to our instructor, Mr. Hope, that the Miss GEICO boat would be in our area on the weekend of July 26th. He responded that we should plan a field trip with the 20-person class to see the boat up close, if at all possible. I told him that I would contact the Miss Geico Racing Team to see if any possibilities existed for us to meet with the crew for a few minutes and see the boat on the day of Friday, July 25.

If this meeting can possibly be arranged, please let me know at your earliest convenience. I am eagerly looking forward to your reply.

Sincerely.
Jarrod S. Tack
Student
Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology.
